Panel discussion on garden critters we don't want!

What a fun experience this last week!

At the recent meeting of our Shades of Green Hosta Society of SE MN we had a panel of members tackling various methods to deal with those pesky unwanted critters who visit our garden beds and do damage to our plants.

Denny and I sat on the panel.   The area we shared information and experiences with was on the subject of Voles!  I shared some interesting and humorous information on this critter and Denny shared how to use the trap we use in attempting to lower our population.  We have a herd of voles that have settled into living under a low deck right next to my mini hosta bed!  They have confined their damage to the roots of my mini hostas and dwarf perennials but we are trying to reduce the herd size or eliminate their dining.

We had quite a discussion on solutions to Deer repellent use as well as use of electric fencing!  Also, how to live with the deer when you have moved into their territory with your leaving space, as another option.

Denny and I are on the far right!
