One of the really fun gardening events I am involved in!
Our Rochester Garden & Flower Club annual Plant Sale to raise funds for our community projects!
Mid May we load up a huge building at our local fair grounds and usually sell about $12,000 in plants grown by our members in their gardens! It is a time to meet and greet area gardeners and enjoy the fellowship of fellow garden club members!
Already members are growing plants and splitting perennials as they come to life this spring to prepare for our sale!
I'm sharing a favorite spring plant this year. 'Star of Bethlehem' peeks up early and blooms with lovely little white flowers in late April or early May! It came to my garden from a friend's garden 12 years ago and it has spread a bit too much. As it disappears after blooming it is great to settle in among plants that will grow over it later, such as hostas!
Another member has already started some English Cucumbers from seed for the sale!
