Community Beautification Project

This last fall our local History Center approached our local garden club for help in reviving a rather good size garden bed that originally was established as a focus spot on their extensive grounds.  It was designed with a stream, some small waterfalls, a foot bridge and a few small trees.  Unfortunately it had lost the support of the previous community organization of designers and caretakers.

So, after evaluating what it would require,  our local garden club decided we would step in and using member volunteers and some money we earn with fundraising activities (Plant Sale and Garden Tour), invest in turning this focus spot into something really spectacular for our community to enjoy!

Thankfully, we found additional support with some local gardening businesses for some of the materials and two talented designers (professionals who also belong to our club).  The focus was to develop a low maintenance display bed to attract people and wildlife to stop by and enjoy!

Lots of volunteer labor has been busy planting this week!  Can't wait to see it after the plants have had some time to settle in and enjoy this year's growing season!

I drive by this location frequently so this is one of our garden club projects I will enjoy often!
